Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about your visit to Her Pelvic Health

Your first visit is all about you. We'll spend 60 minutes together so we have plenty of time to really listen to your story. We'll chat through your symptoms, medical history, and most importantly, what you're hoping to achieve. Please know that this is a safe, judgement-free space; no detail is "too much," and we can move at whatever pace feels right for you. If you feel comfortable, we'll do a physical assessment including screening posture and functional movements. If required and with your full consent, we may also include an external and internal pelvic floor assessment. You'll leave our session with a clear understanding of your body and a personalized plan we've built together. Just wear something comfy – I'm here to take care of you!

No referral is necessary. You're very welcome to book directly with us. Many women prefer this route as it's often quicker and gives you more control over your care. However, if you do have a referral letter or any relevant medical notes, please do bring them along as they can be helpful.

Our clinic is situated in the heart of Bramhall. For parking, we recommend the Meadway carpark located at 5 Meadway, Bramhall, Stockport SK7 1JZ, which is just a short walk away. We are also well-served by local bus routes.

Yes, there is one flight of stairs to access the clinic.

Every woman is different, and so is every treatment plan. Some conditions respond quickly with just a few sessions, whilst others benefit from longer-term support. After your initial assessment, we'll discuss a realistic timeline tailored to your specific needs and goals. We believe in empowering you with the tools to manage your own health, so our aim is always to help you become independent in your care.

We kindly request at least 48 hours notice should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows your slot to be offered to another woman who may be waiting. Late cancellations may result in loss of your deposit. We understand that life with little ones can be unpredictable, so please do get in touch if circumstances arise – we're always understanding.

We understand this is a common concern, and it's one we take seriously. Any internal examination is always carried out with your explicit consent and can be stopped at any time. Most women report feeling comfortable throughout, describing the assessment as thorough but gentle. Your comfort and dignity are paramount, and we work at a pace that feels right for you.

Yes you can, providing you are more than 12 weeks pregnant.

Yes, this is no problem at all. We appreciate periods can arrive at the most inconvenient of times so please don't worry!

Absolutely. We know arranging childcare isn't always possible, especially in those early weeks. If your little one needs feeding, changing, or simply a cuddle during the session, that's perfectly fine with us. However, please be mindful that we do have to be strict when keeping timely with appointments. So, any time required to comfort or feed your baby may eat into your appointment time.

Of course! You can certainly bring someone along with you. They can either be with you in the clinic room or seated in the waiting area.

Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that you can move easily in. If an assessment of your abdomen or back is likely, it's helpful if you can wear or bring something that allows easy access to these areas. There's no need for anything special – come as you are.

Yes, we support women at every stage of life. From young women experiencing their first pelvic health concerns, through pregnancy and postnatal recovery, to perimenopause, menopause, and beyond. Pelvic health matters at every age, and it's never too early or too late to seek support.

Our pricing is transparent – initial assessments are priced differently from follow-up sessions to reflect the additional time involved. We're not currently registered with health insurance providers, but we can provide receipts for you to submit if your policy covers physiotherapy. Please get in touch if you have any questions about costs.

A deposit is required to secure your booking. The balance is payable on the day by card, contactless or cash.
